Natural soapnuts for laundry - simply place 6-8 half shells into the small muslin bag supplied, and pop in with your laundry instead of your usual powder. You'll be surprised! You can do 4-6 loads of laundry before they are exhausted, then simply put on the compost heap and grab some more shells. The 250g box does at least 65 washes, and the 500g box does at least 130 washes. Compare that to the big box powders and you'll soon appreciate the tremendous value for money that soapnuts offer, plus they take up considerably less storage space. Soapnuts grow on trees in India and Nepal and contain Saponin, a natural soap. Working out at about 3p a wash they are extremely economical. We find they are effective on all everyday washing, don't fade colours and keep the laundry soft as well. We've also had no irritation for our 2 daughters with eczema. Because they don't contain any added chemicals, you will need to pre-treat stains with a stain remover (we like the Ecover one, which is easy to apply without wastage). Choose from 250g or 500g.
